The Boonville R-I Board of Education will meet for their last meeting of 2011 on Wednesday evening.
With what appears to be a light agenda, Superintendent Mark Ficken said the board will discuss "common, end of the year business."
Board president Charlie Melkersman will once again address the board in regards to the purchase of new chairs for the board room. During last month's meeting, Melkersman proposed replacing the worn and dated chairs currently in the board room.
Members gave the go-ahead to pursue price comparisons for new chairs last month.
Also in unfinished business, the board will review the adoption of a revised 2011-2012 budget.
As a matter of new business, the board will review the 2010-2011 Fiscal Year Audit for approval. Ficken showed no concerns with the audit and said there were no major areas for concern.
"We were able to balance the budget," he said. "In these times, that's something to be said."
The board will also review the COOP agreement for sports with Saints Peter and Paul School. Currently the school's share a football, volleyball, wrestling and track program.
Ficken was hopeful Monday that the board would renew the agreement.
The local Farmer's Market will also be discussed on Wednesday.
Ficken said market vendors are interested in changing the location of the market from the Orscheln Farm and Home parking lot to the lot outside of the R-I administrative office and Laura Speed Elliott Middle School.
Vendor Arlen Uthlaut said that at the moment those in charge of the market are just seeking out other options.
"Orscheln's has been ok for us, but we as vendors wonder what else is out there," he said.
A change order of $4,975 will be reviewed by the board as well. Lighting and safety became a recent concern near the tennis courts and now, new lighting is to be installed.
Originally, the plan called for lights to be installed on existing poles near the tennis court parking lot. Contractors have since determined that not a possibility.
New poles and lighting would need to be installed.
The board will meet at 6 p.m. in the board conference room of the school's administration center.
