The Central Methodist University Jazz Band and the A Cappella Choir will present holiday season concerts this week on Saturday and Sunday.
The CMU Jazz Band Concert will begin at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 6, in Dealy Room of the Student and Community Center. The Chorale and the Conservatory Singers will perform individually and then together as the A Cappella Choir, beginning at 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 7, in Linn Memorial United Methodist Church on the campus.
The Jazz Band is under the direction of Loyd Warden, adjunct professor of music. Compositions it will perform include Scrapple from the Apple by Charlie Parker (arranged by Dick Lieb), My Funny Valentine by Rogers and Hart, Do nothin till you hear from me by Duke Ellington, and Watermelon Man by Herbie Hancock (arrangement by the CMU Jazz Band Ensemble).
