The following is a brief of the story. For the full version, see the Tuesday, May 26 print edition of the BDN.

Bicyclists had ideal weather as they rode from Flat Branch Park in Columbia to Boonville on Saturday as part of the Pedaler’s Jamboree.

By Friday afternoon, 300 participants had registered for the ride that followed the Katy Trail with comfort stops along the route. The riders had stops in Rocheport, Fayette and New Franklin where they were entertained by live music while rehydrating and resting. Bikers arriving in Boonville before 4 p.m. were greeted by the live music of East Ash Street Band and Big Cat Daddy.

By the time Big Smith took the stage, the west end of Kemper Park was transformed into a tent city as riders pitched temporary overnight quarters. A massage team was on hand, ready to attend to riders who needed a little extra relaxation, and a pork chop on a bun was offered to the hungry.
