A battlefield archaeologist who has researched the Battle of Little Bighorn and is now investigating Civil War sites is scheduled to speak Friday night in Marshall at Missouri Valley College.

Doug Scott also works around the world assisting in war crimes trials, according to a news release from the college. The event is set to run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the R. Wilson Brown Room, located on the second floor of The Ferguson Student Center at East College Street and Redman Avenue.

The free event is being sponsored by Missouri's Civil War Heritage Foundation.
