Welliver promoted to Boonville Police Chief

According to a news release, the City of Boonville City Council voted to approve the appointment of Mr. John R. "Bobby" Welliver as its next Chief of Police.

Welliver formerly served as Lt. Chief Detective at Boonville Police Department. He takes the place of Jim Gholson, who has spent 41 years on the force and is retiring.

"Welliver has served the community for over twenty years and has successfully risen through the ranks of the chain of command," said Mayor Protem Mark Livingston. "We look forward to his continued leadership as our next chief."
