Boonville, Mo. -

For the past 10 days, the Boonville Police Department has been investigating a theft at the U-Store-It storage units located on Ashley Road in Boonville.

According to Lt. Bob Welliver, more than $5,000 worth of items were stolen, including a motorcycle and numerous woodworking machines including a joiner, planer, belt sander, miter saw and a band saw.

“This equipment was large and would have taken a truck or trailer to haul away,” said Lt. Welliver.

With no leads as of Tuesday morning, the BPD is asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call the BPD at 882-2727. The owner is offering a reward for the return of the items and/or for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the person(s) involved.

Welliver advises anyone who is a victim of theft, to check you homeowners or renters insurance because it more than likely covers items stolen or damaged in storage sheds.
