Boonville, Mo. -

A new school year means new teachers. Local schools report a number of teachers new to their respective districts for the 2008-2009 school year, including instructors who have switched positions within their school systems.

In Boonville at Central Elementary, Kirby Rugen will be a new kindergarten teacher; Keri Reams will be new to first grade; Nicole Paxton is the new speech teacher; Cindy Spaedy has stepped in as a library aide; Betty Edwards will serve as a  paraprofessional; Liz Schler will be the new school nurse; and Joyce Waters, who was a part-time staff member with the Parents As Teachers program, will continue her work with the district, but as a full-time paraprofessional.

At David Barton, Amanda Schuster will be a new third grade teacher; the second grade will have two new teachers, Stacy Bishop and Lori Wessing; and Mark Harvey will be the new physical education teacher.
