Owners of Stein House restaurant, which was devastated in an April fire, are closing one of their retail businesses on Main Street after facing funds crunch.
The store Simple Pleasures, which sells antiques and decorative household items, is closing after seven years at the end of July as soon as all the items at the store are liquidated.
The shop used to sell scented candles, fine glassware, jewelry, photo frames with needlework designs and memorabilia, a collection owner Jeff Lueck called “eclectic.”
The decision to close the shop comes as owners lost their mainstay--the historic eatery and pub.
"People in Boonville don't want that style of stuff," said Lueck, also one of the owners of Stein House restaurant, of the gift store. "And a lot of cash was tied up there."
Lueck and Tim Parish own the building that houses Simple Pleasures.
