NEWS RELEASE: Missouri city to host Women as Landowners conference

The 6th Annual Women As Landowners and Their Partners Conference will be held on February 23, 2010 at the United Church of Christ in California MO. 

The conference targets landowners in Cole, Cooper, Moniteau, Morgan and Miller counties, but is open to all. Registration will begin at 10:00 a.m., with opening remarks at 10:30 a.m. by Nancy Kirby, Moniteau Co SWCD District Manager.  

There will be 3 breakout sessions with 4 topics in each session. Session topics are as follows: “Retirement Opportunities for 2010” by Wes Hentges and Galen Dody; “Beyond Tomatoes” and “Berry Gardening in Missouri” by James Quinn, MU Extension; “Converting Negatives/Slides to Digital Images” by Pam Thompson of Misty Morn Memories; “Are You Intentionally Winning at Half-time or the End of the Game” by Galen Dody; “Women: How to Stay Healthy at any Age” by Carol Hodges of Moniteau County Health Center; “Targeting Rural Crime” by Sgt. J.P. Clark of the Rural Crimes Unit-MSHP; and “What will your Legacy be?” by Wes Hentges.
