The former Boonville priest suspected of sexually assaulting three mid-Missouri men in the mid-1980s arrived late Friday at the Cooper County Detention Center, according to an e-mail from Sheriff Jerry Wolfe.

Two deputies with the Cooper County Sheriff's Department picked up the suspect, Gerald J. Howard, 65, in Essex County, N.J., and returned him to Boonville, Wolfe stated.

Howard is unable to post his bond of $1.5 million, Wolfe stated.
