In several sentences, explain how and why you decided to become an
educator.
I think the fact that my mother was a teacher for almost 30 years played a big role, but in addition, I wanted to become an educator because of several reasons. One was that I always enjoyed school and loved being involved in athletics and other extra-curricular activities. I also viewed it as a way to make a positive difference in my hometown, state, country, and the world in general.
Who is a teacher or professor who inspired you and how?
I think every teacher I had in school inspired me in some way, shape, or form, especially those I had the further I went in my education. But the teachers with the greatest influence were my parents and other family members. They consistently taught me the values of hard work, integrity, honesty, and doing your best to be a positive, responsible member of society.
