Students at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School gathered in the cafeteria this morning for a prayer service that is expected to become an annual event held in memory of the events of Sept. 11, 2001.
Members of the Boonville Fire Department and the Knights of Columbus; troopers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol; and state Republican Rep. Kenny Jones and state Republican Sen. Bill Stouffer were among the distinguished guests in attendance.
Jones presented Principal Alan Lammers with a new U.S. flag as a gift from the Missouri state legislative branch for Ss. Peter and Paul’s work in organizing the prayer service.
Stouffer presented Father Robert Duesdieker with a resolution recognizing Ss. Peter and Paul and the Knights of Columbus for their commitment to continuing the prayer service each year to memorialize Sept. 11.
