The following is a brief of the story. For the full version, see the Thursday, Dec. 18 print edition of the BDN.
Due to illness, attendance was lower than normal Wednesday night when board members of Prairie Home R-V met for their regular monthly meeting.
The meeting went on as scheduled with the board addressing items on the agenda such as food service. According to the expense report, it is making progress. This is attributed in part to recent changes in policy for staff meals. The district’s food service department has previously experienced revenue losses and continues to operate in the red but the bottom line has improved with the reduction of free meals to non-certified staffers. Under the new policy, non-certified staff members are reimbursed for meals from the district’s salary budget; therefore, reducing the expense from the food service budget.
Another item on the agenda was staff health insurance. After consideration by board members, they voted to continue with the company that currently insures staff. Quotes from other sources will still be accepted for future consideration.
