The smell of burnt wood was still in the air on Wednesday morning, just hours after an early morning fire damaged a Boonville house.
Shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday the Boonville Fire Department received a call that there was a structure fire at the home of Rodney Rademann, at 918 3rd Street. When the first crew arrived they found “heavy fire showing,” said Boonville Fire Chief Tim Carmichael.
Within an hour the fire department had the fire “pretty well under control,” Carmichael said.
After containing the blaze, the fire department went inside and found two spots that could have been the origins of the fire. One spot was located in a bedroom while the other was in the living room. There was also a window busted out in the back of the house and another window that was lifted up, Carmichael reported.
