School may be out for Boonville students, but staff of the school district have been hard at work making sure that everything is ready when classes resume next month.
“There’s been pain with progress at times,” said superintendent Mark Ficken during Monday’s school board meeting. Still, he said he appreciates the flexibility the staff has had.
There are a number of large projects within the district, one of which is moving an entire school into the brand new Hannah Cole Primary building. The school, built by Septagon Construction, is complete and has been turned over to teachers and staff. They are now busy making sure classrooms are ready for the first day of school on Aug. 18.
On Sunday, Aug. 9 beginning at 3:30 p.m. there will be an open house for the community to tour the new building.
