Jay Webster will take the students — leave the headaches — when he retires as principal of Boonville High School.

Webster is moving on to become the director of student life at Central Methodist University, where he will see 13 of this year’s high school graduates around campus.

On Thursday, after students finished their last day of school, faculty gathered in the high school lobby to hold a reception for Webster. He received a framed black-and-white picture  from his days as a basketball player at Central Methodist University.

The longtime principal started his career in Fayette before spending the last 20 years in the Boonville R-1 School District.
