The following is a brief of the story. For the full version, see the Monday, Aug. 10 print edition of the BDN.

Student athletes, musicians and special groups will begin arriving on Central Methodist University’s Fayette campus next week while new and returning students will be on campus beginning Aug. 22. Resident assistants will return on Aug. 13, as CMU gears up for the beginning of a new semester.

Verification for new students will be held Saturday, Aug. 22, between 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on the fourth floor of the Student and Community Center. New students will begin their orientation to their CMU community with a welcome address from President Marianne E. Inman at 1 p.m. at Linn Memorial United Methodist Church on the CMU campus. For the next three days, these students will be involved in activities designed to acquaint them with other new students, campus student leaders, and their academic programs.

For most returning students, verification is Monday, Aug. 24, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., on the fourth floor of the Student and Community Center Monday evening, Aug. 24, also marks the date of the Fayette-CMU Student Fair held on the Courthouse Square from 6-8 p.m. Classes begin Tuesday, Aug. 25.
