Of 57 school buses recently inspected in Cooper and Howard counties, only one had to be taken temporarily out of service for repairs, according to data provided by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

More than 12,200 such buses in Missouri received the inspections between Feb. 2 and April 30, according to a news release from the Highway Patrol.
School buses inspected included those in the Boonville, New Franklin,
Fayette, Howard County, Blackwater, Bunceton, Prairie Home and Pilot Grove school districts.

Of the Cooper and Howard county buses for which inspection data were provided, 48 — or 84 percent —  received approval upon initial inspection, meaning they were found free of defective items.
