Meet Danielle Blanck, a former Boonville mayor who is now ombudswoman at Cooper County Memorial Hospital’s long-term heath care division. Blanck and her husband, Dick, will celebrate 50 years of marriage this year with a cruise that their family gave them as a present.
Can you tell me how you got involved in Boonville?
I was the port authority director in the ‘80s and then I joined the Boonville Area Chamber of Commerce, and since at that time I had lots of enthusiasm, I became the director. During that time, I hired Pat Jackson. Right after this period, I decided to go back to school to get my school librarian certificate. I then got a job after getting my degree at the prison library, where I would help first offenders ranging in age from 18 to 24. I enjoyed working with these young individuals very much.
