Rick Ball of Rick Ball Auto Mall in Boonville took time to answer several questions about himself and his career in an e-mail interview.
How long ago did you decide to open a business in Boonville?
From the time I was born, my dad was an auto-body repairman and he was my inspiration and my idol. When I was old enough to have a job, I started in the car business at a dealership in Columbia detailing vehicles. I soon advanced to other positions within the dealership, ending as a sales manager.
I knew I wanted to have my own dealership, so in 1978 the opportunity to purchase Prigmore Chevrolet in Boonville presented itself. I had visited Boonville several times and was impressed with the town and people. My wife, Terry, and our son Ryan moved from Columbia to Boonville to start our new life and business.
