Cooper County Memorial Hospital aims to write off medical bills deemed uncollectible by end of the year, chief executive Allen Waldo said today.

The hospital has some accounts receivable from insurance companies that date back three years.
Revenue cycle director Ron Wallace updated the board on his progress in collecting outstanding bills Wednesday at a meeting of the hospital’s board of trustees.

The hospital board also voted to maintain its tax levy at its current rate of 15 cents per $100 dollars, Waldo said.
