Missouri Valley player to be Martez Callaway will join an elite group of seniors for the Missouri Lions Clubs of District 26-I 20th annual All-Star Basketball Games on Saturday, June 14th at Missouri Valley College in Marshall.
The girls’ game will be played at 6 p.m., and the boys’ game at 8 at the Georgia Robertson Burns Athletic Center on the MVC campus.
Tickets are $5 per person and may be purchased at the door. District 26-I consists of 11 counties in central and west-central Missouri.
Forty-three of last season’s top senior high school basketball players in the district will be competing in the games. Interestate 70 serves as the dividing line for the North and South squads.
Callaway, a two-year starter for the Boonville Pirates basketball team, closed out the 2007-08 season leading the team in scoring average, assists and steals.
Joining Callaway on the boys’ North team are Mason Rhodes and Spencer Rhodes of Higginsville, Seth Smith from Lexington, Darren Ralston from Lexington, Brandon Horine of Norborne, Aaron James and Taylor Griffin from Orrick, Josh Edelbrock of Richmond, Paul Kugler from Stet, and Brantley Niendick and Cody Williams from Wellington.
The head coach for the North squad will be Roger Johnson from Northwestern. Jake Reardon from Tina-Avalon will be the assistant coach for the North.
