The Municipal Facilities Authority (MFA) met in a special-called meeting Thursday evening, March 29, in the City Council Chambers.
Ken Hirlinger called the meeting to order at 5:30 and asked for public comments. Hearing none, the members moved on to discuss the MFA Corp’s status as a tax-exempt entity.
The MFA was organized in 1989 to facilitate the building of Logan’s Lake Road. Recently, it’s come to the Corp’s attention that they might not be the tax-exempt entity they thought they were.  Several options were discussed, and it was agreed that they needed to first determine their status as per IRS regulations.
The second order of business was to review and discuss their revolving loan policies. After a brief discussion, it was decided to freeze all new business until a determination of their tax-exempt status was made.
Hirlinger called for a motion to adjourn and it was unanimous.
