Easter weekend kicked off at the Boonslick YMCA with breakfast, crafts, and, of course, the Easter Bunny. Between 8:30-9:45 a.m., the Y treated adults to a low-cost breakfast of biscuits & gravy, sausage & eggs, coffee, milk, and orange juice while kids ate free. The Easter Bunny was on hand for photos and to keep things moving along. After breakfast and before the Easter egg hunt, crafts were available for the children.
At 10 a.m., the Kiwanis and the Boonville High School Key Club sponsored an Easter egg hunt for 2-8-year-olds on the soccer fields behind the Y. Despite the cool, damp weather, kids were lined up around the fields waiting for the signal to start.
Evan Melkersman welcomed all who turned out and blew the whistle that turned lines of patient children into a stampeding herd. In less than five minutes, the fields of colorful eggs had disappeared and smiling kids were heading home.
