Thanks to the quick and efficient response of the Boonville Street Department, Boonville got through this weekend’s ice storm with little mishap.
Crews were working Saturday morning and most of the main streets were cleared by noon, according Boonville Public Works Director ML Cauthon.
The crews went out again when the second wave came through Saturday night and did some touch ups again Sunday morning. A few side streets and alleys were all that remained by Monday morning.
The Cooper County Historical Society canceled their February meeting, which was to be held just south of Pilot Grove.
Boonville Fire Chief Tim Carmichael reported there were only 11 calls from Friday to Monday morning. He reported one car fire, one grass fire and nine medicals.
