Three nights of classical music entertainment is only weeks away. The Missouri River Festival of the Arts will be held at Thespian Hall on August 24, 25 and 26.

“The festival is a three night classical music festival featuring classically trained artists from around this region as  well as nationally recognized solo artists.  The Festival strives to present the highest quality of performing arts to its patrons at the intimate venue of  historic Thespian Hall.  Since 2005, the Festival has been under the artistic direction of David Halen, concertmaster of the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra,” according to the Friends of Historic Boonville. “For almost four decades, with support from the Kemper Foundation, the Missouri Arts Council, patrons and financial supporters, the Missouri River Festival has continued to grow and has become a highly respected regional arts event drawing thousands of people to the performances and specials events. This is one reason why the Festival is special to Boonville. But there is another reason, and that is the volunteers. Each year hundreds of people volunteer their time and energy to make sure everything is ready for opening night. It gives the Festival a special magic and the pride that the volunteers take in the results of their labor is evident during Festival week.”

This year’s festival will include Harpist, Allegra Lily on Thursday, Jazz Great, Peter Martin on Friday and A GRAND EVENING of TCHAIKOVSKY on Saturday.

Ticket prices are $75 for the series (all three nights), $27.50 each, for Thursday and Friday nights and $30 for Saturday night. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m.
