For several years, the Boonville Kiwanis Club has been giving school supplies to elementary school students as part of their local philanthropy. This Sunday, more than 330 students received much needed supplies, which allows parents to spend money on other school necessities. The event, which was held at Lions Park, was much more than one organization, it showed how the community came out to support the youth of the area.

This year, Uptown Girlz was on site providing free haircuts to young children as they came for school supplies. This allowed these children to have a new look before going back to school.

Food was provided by Morgan Street Baptist Church as students lined up for the community affair.

Kiwanis members were very happy of the turnout this year. Leftover school supply packs can be picked up at the Boonville Area Chamber of Commerce.
