BOONVILLE – The dream of a new animal shelter is within reach as the newest donation to the endeavor garnered $20,000 donation from the Isle of Capri Casino Hotel.

“The Isle of Capri Casino Hotel continues to give back to the community in a big way, donating $20,000 to the Boonville Animal Shelter Foundation. This donation puts the group within $6,000 of achieving their goal to raise enough funds in order to build a new shelter which is desperately needed,” a release from the casino stated.

Isle Vice President and General Manager, Ken Ostempowski, presented the donation to John Baker, Executive Director of the Community Foundation of Central Missouri.

“Isle of Capri Casino Hotel Boonville, along with its new parent company, Eldorado Resorts, Inc., takes great pride in being able to give back to the Mid-Missouri community and its citizens,” Ostempowski said. “We have always resolved to connect and contribute to the community we operate in, and ensure we work with our partners to help make where we work, live, and play a better place to be.”

The new animal shelter is a community effort, born of concerns that local animals needed a better facility than the current one at the end of Morgan Street.
