The Fire Marshall was called in after a Wednesday morning fire erupted in a two story red brick vacant home near the intersection of Spring and Third streets.
Just before 8 a.m., a fire was reported in a vacant rental property along Spring Street. For three hours the Boonville Fire Department battled the fire that damaged the property much internally.
According to Boonville Fire Chief Tim Carmichael, after investigating the fire, it was found that fire was set to three areas purposely. This alarmed the fire department, which was one of the primary reasons why the Fire Marshall was called in. Furthermore, the Boonville Police is treating this incident as a criminal manner and urges individuals to report any suspicious activity or knowledge they may know about this incident.
