Two Cooper County officials said goodbye to the county offices they held, in some cases, for decades.
Cooper County Eastern District Commissioner Paul Davis and Cooper County Public Administrator Stephanie Young both retired at the end of last year, marking years of serving the county.
Earlier this year, both officials made it clear they would not run for re-election for their respective offices, opening the door for other candidates.
Davis ends eight years of public service while Young ends almost three decades.
During the party on Thursday, community members and friends bid their farewells to these officials as they pursue the next chapter in their life. The two hour celebration included cake and punch.
Individuals were grateful for Davis’ and Young’s service. Charlie Melkersman will now replace Davis while Julie Doerr will replace Young.
