The attorney for a former Boonville priest suspected in several sexual assaults has agreed to withdraw a motion for a change of judge in the case, Cooper County Prosecutor Doug Abele said today.

A motion for a change of venue in the case of Gerald Howard will remain on file, Abele said. In the event that the case appears set for trial, the prosecution will file an application to bring in a jury from another county, he said.

Columbia attorney Christopher Slusher is representing Howard.
