While GlenMartin confirmed Monday that it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, it is not the first company with Boonville ties to be connected with similar filings this year.

Nordyne’s parent company, Nortek, has filed for a prepackaged Chapter 11, said Kari Palutis, communications manager at Nordyne’s O’Fallon headquarters.

“For the most part, Nordyne is unaffected,” Palutis said Monday.

City Administrator Irl Tessendorf said today that while it’s unusual to have two Chapter 11 filings with Boonville connections in a short period of time, he’s hopeful the filings will allow the companies to restructure and continue working in the city.
