The Boonville Lady Pirates basketball team had one of those nights last night against the Moberly Lady Spartans.

After sweeping the Lady Spartans last year and winning two other games in tournament play, Boonville had hopes of extending its streak five games over Moberly last night in NCMC action. However with only one starter returning this season for Boonville and four back for the Lady Spartans, head coach Tara Brackman knew that her team would have to play almost flawless basketball to win on the road.

As it turned out, the Lady Pirates were anything but flawless as Moberly out-rebounded Boonville 35-17 and held a 30-11 lead at the half en route to a 50-32 victory.

For Boonville, senior Heather English tossed in 13 points along with five rebounds, three steals and one assist.

The Boonville girls junior varsity basketball team also fell last night against the Lady Spartans by a score of 46-28.

For Boonville, Kayce Scott tossed in eight points while Marie Gentry and Madison Watson added six points each, Emily Smith with four points and Sheridan Potter and Lacey Duncan with two points apiece.
