Boonville, Mo. -

For Boonville senior Heather English, who has already signed a letter of intent at Columbia College, the game last night to start the conference season couldn’t have come at a better time.

While the Lady Pirates entered the game at 2-1 on the season, English also needed only 10 points to surpass the 1,000 point mark in her career against the Fulton Lady Hornets. Of course it didn’t take the senior standout long to reach the milestone while finishing with 10 of the team’s 12 points in the first quarter en route to a 58-34 victory.

On a night where eight different players scored in the game against Fulton, Boonville Lady Pirates basketball coach Tara Brackman said she was really excited about the team play and defensive effort while forcing 22 turnovers.
