JEFFERSON CITY, Mo -- The Department of Public Safety announces the Missouri State Highway Patrol has received three prestigious designations reserved for some of the nation’s top law enforcement agencies. On Saturday, November 21, the Patrol was re-accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.
CALEA also recognized the MSHP as a Flagship Agency, a designation acknowledging the achievement and expertise of some of the most exemplary agencies accredited by CALEA, which provide “flagship examples” to assist other agencies. In addition, the Highway Patrol achieved the Meritorious Award, an accomplishment reserved for agencies that have been accredited for 15 or more continuous years by the commission.
“I’ve been impressed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s exemplary work throughout the more than two decades that we’ve worked together, so this well-deserved recognition of excellence comes as no surprise to me,” said Gov. Jay Nixon. “Missourians are fortunate to have such an outstanding statewide law enforcement agency and I congratulate Col. James Keathley and all of the men and women of the Patrol on their achievement.”
