Picture-perfect spring weather welcomed folk music lovers to Boonville for the weekend’s Big Muddy Folk Festival, with sold-out concerts held Friday and Saturday nights at Thespian Hall. The 17th annual festival included workshops, displays by folk artisans and was topped off by the aromatic offers of the barbeque prepared by Terry Smith and the Friends of Historic Boonville – as well as an appearance by the Thespian Hall bat during Friday night’s concert.
“It was really a lot of fun,” said Cathy Barton, festival organizer. “Everything went very smoothly.” Barton said a great deal of the operational credit went to the Friends of Historic Boonville, including Holly Peterson, executive director.
