People from as far away as North Carolina and Austin, Texas, flocked to Boonville to get a taste of the 35th Missouri River Festival of the Arts. The festival began Thursday and runs through Saturday.

Opening night entertained a packed audience, said Holly Peteson, executive director of the Friends of Historic Boonville.

Among notable musicians who will be performing at the festival are concertmaster  David Halen, soprano Mary-Jane Lee, pianist Natasha Paremski and resident conductor Ward Stare.
