The Swinney Conservatory of Music production of the Gilbert and Sullivan operetta “Patience” will be performed July 10 and 11 in the Little Theatre at Central Methodist University in Fayette.
Acting roles and the chorus feature Central Methodist University faculty, staff and students and residents from several Central Missouri communities. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. both nights. Tickets are $8 adults, $6 for seniors and students. Financial assistance for production of “Patience” is being provided by the Fayette Area Community Trust, Commercial Trust Company and Janet Jacobs.
The production will be the culmination of a six-week Summer Performance Workshop being sponsored by the conservatory. CMU music and theatre arts faculty will serve as instructors. Skills taught during the workshop include acting, singing and stage movement, as well as technical skills in set construction and painting, properties, costumes, stage management, lighting and set management.
