  • The Boonville Area Chamber of Commerce will host Meet the Candidates Night Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Boonville City Council Chambers on Spring Street. The night will give community members the opportunity to ask questions to the candidates themselves.
The Meet The Candidates will be broadcast live by SuddenLink Cable and will be rebroadcast on Friday, at 12 p.m. and 7 p.m.
"We will have the opening statements, questions and answers, and closing statements for each race before we move to the next one. We will start with the school board candidates, then the city council candidates next, and finally the mayor candidates. The order candidates speak, within each segment, will be determined the night of the forum. We will have candidates draw numbers. Candidates will be given visual time warnings. All time limits will be strictly enforced," Boonville Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kim Alberts stated.
Four candidates are running for the Boonville R-1 Board of Education. Three seats will be filled. Candidates include Richelle Adair Kluck, Natesia Jiles, Dan Horst and Charlie Melkersman.
Candidates running for Boonville City Council include Ward One: Kari Evans, Ward Two: Susan Meadows, Ward Two: Albert Turner, Ward Three: Edward “Ned” Beach and for Ward Four: Henry Hurt.
The Boonville City Mayoral race is between Morris Carter and Julie Thacher.
The night will include opening statements and questions from the press and audience.
