Boonville senior wrestler Andrew Broyhill was recently selected to the North Central Missouri All-Conference second team for the 2013-14 season.
While competing in the 170-pound weight class, Broyhill closed out his career with a third-place finish at the state tournament on February 22nd at Mizzou Arena in Columbia.
A two-time state qualifier and a two-time district medalists, Broyhill finished the 2013-14 season at 34-9 overall with 44 takedowns, 26 escapes, 20 falls, nine reversals, eight two-point nearfalls, seven three-point nearfalls, five decisions and three major decisions.
Boonville Pirate wrestling coach Christian Stock said Broyhill has had a great career at Boonville High School.
“What can you say that hasn’t already been said about Andrew,” Stock said. “He is a two-time all-conference selection, he was district champ last year at 152 and he tied for first on the team with Haldan Toomsen for most wins with 34 and led the team in major decisions, escapes and takedowns. He also made academic all-state this year for the Missouri Wrestling Association.”
