Lion's Club auction raises funds to benefit the community

The Boonville Lion's Club ended their two night auction in success Thursday night at the Rick Ball Auto Mall in Boonville. The club raised more than $9,300 from bids and donations to benefit the community.
"I think we are very pleased the way it went especially with having it on two different nights," Lion's Club Member Gene Cummins said.
With $2,000 of expenses the remainder of the funds will go right into the community.
"I want to thank the Boonville Daily News, Sudenlink Cable and KWRT Radio for their support. Since we moved to a new location from being at the (Rick Ball Auto Mall) Ford store for several years and now being at the GM store, I think everything went very well," Cummins said.
Thursday night was spent making certificates for the items that were sold, so they would be ready for pickup.
Individuals who won auction items can pick the certificates up and pay for them at Citizens Bank and Trust, which is located at near the intersection of Spring and Fourth streets. Certificates will be available for pick up after 12 p.m. on Friday or on Saturday between 9 a.m. and noon.
Cummins said Lion's Club members will be available to assist with certificates at the bank. Individuals can call the bank in advance at 660-882-7476 to speak to a member regarding a purchased item.
Once an individual has a certificate, they must take it to the merchant to receive their merchandise.
