68-24 win improves Boonville's record to 18-2 overall and 8-0 in NCMC

The Boonville Lady Pirates basketball team continued its run through the conference Monday night by leading the Class 4 Hannibal Pirates from start to finish for a convincing 68-24 victory.

But more importantly, the Lady Pirates took care of business from the opening tip off and led by as much as 30 going into the fourth quarter.
“We started off rusty but got it going in the second quarter with Morgan (Edwards) taking control in the inside scoring 12 points,” said Boonville girls coach Jaryt Hunziker. “Our guards did a great job of creating turnovers out top by being aggressive and setting good traps. The effort continued into the second half where we had a 33 point lead going into the final quarter. We are still struggling to get our outside game going by shooting 1 for 13 behind the arc. Hopefully, we can start knocking some of those down in the final five games and into the postseason. It was a great team effort tonight.”
