Boonville FFA holds chili dinner to help raise funds for DC trip
It was not too cold or too warm for individuals to enjoy some chili on Sunday. Boonville FFA members prepared and served the dinner to help raise funds to send 11 area FFA members to the Washington Leadership Conference (WLC), which will be held in Washington D.C. this summer.
Beginning around 11 a.m. at the Boonville High School Commons, individuals lined up to get a bowl of chili which was served with a number of condiments and included a wide range of desserts with generous portions.
Kelsi Dillender, Courtney Timm, Megan Roth, Bekah Renner, Anna Schuster, Jasmine Simmons, Sophia Elder, Amanda Hampton, Jake Lenz, Trent Monk and Ryan Young assisted with the dinner to help with funds to take them to the WLC.
According to Boonville FFA member Jasmine Simmons, Boonville FFA reporter, WLC is a week-long conference where FFA members from all over the country have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, meet new people, and volunteer. Each member will be placed in a group with members from other states for the duration of the conference.
The dinner also included a silent auction with items being offered from around the State of Missouri.
