Community Christmas Concert
Community togetherness is no stranger in Boonville during Christmas as individuals from area communities come together to perform the Community Christmas Choir Concert at Thespian Hall on December 1.
The annual Community Christmas Concert has become a staple in the Boonslick area. While it may be fun and enjoyed by many, practice for this large endeavor begins long before Christmas. The choir members devote a lot of time making sure the concert is as close to perfect as possible.
On Monday evening, the community choir participators packed Thespian Hall for the weekly practice, which is being directed by Janice Bradshaw, who has been directing the choir for many years.
From high school students to wise elders of the area, many age groups and surrounding communities will be represented in the choir.
"It is a really cool experience getting together with all the community members," Boonville High School sophomore, Noah Rogers said.
Songs that will be performed include 'Angels We Have Heard on High,' 'The Little Drummer Boy,' 'Let There be Peace on Earth' and 'Let's have a Christmas Celebration.'
According to a release from the Friends of Historic Boonville, the performance at Thespian Hall is a great way to start the holiday season.
Tickets are available now at the Friends’ Office, Family Shoe Store or at the door on performance night. Prices are only $7 for adults and $4 for ages 18 and under.
