Katy Bridge project to be done in three phases
The Katy Bridge will be constructed in three phases beginning in early 2014.
Phase one construction will begin on the south side of the bridge with the construction a 247 feet missing span, which crosses the Union Pacific Railroad. The estimate cost of phase one is $750,000.
The next phase of construction will include the rehabilitation of the lift span, which includes mechanical and electrical work.
The final phase will begin work on the north side, which includes connection to the Katy Trail to Howard County.
Once all three phases are completed individuals will be able to walk and pedal across the bridge.
