The Boonville Lady Pirates JV volleyball team came out of pool play Saturday in the Columbia Hickman Tournament with a record of 5-1 and hopes for advancement in bracket play.
After beating Father Tolton 25-17, 25-18, Hickman 24-26 and 25-23 and Battle 25-16 and 25-15, the Lady Pirates looked to be well on their way to playing for the title.
However, in the bracket play against No. 2 Blair Oaks, Boonville fell in two straight by the scores of 25-14 and 25-18.
Sophie Taube led the Lady Pirates with 52 digs and 26 service points with four aces.
Alyssa Dell, meanwhile, finished the tournament with 38 service points with eight aces and nine kills while Lindsey Harris added 19 assists and 18 digs, Sydnee Poindexter with 17 digs and 14 kills, Holly Brady with 22 digs, Kyra Price with 11 assists and 11 digs, Kelsi Dillender with 16 kills and four blocks, Emilyn O’Laughlin with eight blocks and seven kills, Keely Fenton with five service points with two aces, Emily Gibson with five service points and Ashley King with two digs.
