Cooper County Sheriff awarded
Patriotic Employer Award

Cooper County Sheriff Jerry Wolfe honored for his support of the United States Military on Friday afternoon at the Cooper County Courthouse. Reserve Cooper County Deputy and Staff Sergeant Matthew Nauman nominated Wolfe for the award.
“What Sergeant Nauman has done was nominate Sheriff Wolfe for a very prestigious award, the Patriotic Employer Award,”  Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Chair William Johnson said.
Johnson said Wolfe has been very supportive even when Nauman had to go for training every year.
“I wanted to recognize him for all the support he has given me through the years. I worked here for nine years,” Nauman said.
“It has been a privilege to have Matt work for us for the past several years. He has done an exceptional job. We enjoy the ability to support in the manor that we have, even though it is a very small part. It has been very important to us,” Wolfe said.
After Wolfe received the award, United States Army Colonel Greg Barrack read the statement of support. The award was signed by the United State Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta.
Wolfe was overly humbled by the award.
“I have great admiration for our military and this was just a small way to show our support,” Wolfe said.
