  • Boonville to host Jamboree tonight at BHS Sports Complex against Fulton, Holden

  • Pirates will kick off 2013 season for real on Friday, Aug. 30 against Pintos

  • The Boonville Pirates football team will be the host for a three-team Jamboree tonight at the BHS Sports Complex starting at 6 p.m.
    Boonville Athletic Director Chris Shikles said the Jamboree will start early this year to combat the heat.
    Participating in the Jamboree along with Boonville are Fulton and Holden.
    Shikles said Boonville will wear the blue jerseys while Fulton will be dressed in black and Holden in white.
    During warm-ups, Boonville will lineup in the west end zone to the 30-yard line. Holden will lineup from the 30 to the 30-yard line, while Fulton will warm up from the east end zone to the 30-yard line.
    As far as the order of the Jamboree, Holden’s offense will run nine plays against Fulton’s defense and then it will be Fulton’s offense versus Holden’s defense.
    Holden, a member of the Missouri River Valley Conference, will then run nine offensive plays against Boonville’s defense and then it will be the Pirates turn on offense against the Eagles’ defense.
    Lastly, Fulton’s offense will run nine plays against Boonville’s defense and then the Pirates’ offense will run nine plays against Fulton’s defense.
    Concessions will also be available to the fans.
    The Boonville Pirates football team will kick off the 2013 season for real on Friday, August 30th at home against the California Pintos starting at 7 p.m.
    The Pirates will have five home and five away games this season.
    After the home game against the California Pintos, the Pirates will make their first road trip of the season on Friday, Sept. 6th against the Higginsville Huskers starting at 7 p.m. Then, after back-to-back home games against the Hannibal Pirates and Knob Noster Panthers on September 13 and 20, Boonville will travel to Mexico for a conference game against the Bulldogs on September 27th.
    A home game will follow against the Kirksville Tigers on October 4th, followed by a road game against the Fulton Hornets on October 11th. Then, on Senior-Parents Night, Boonville will host the Moberly Spartans on Friday, Oct. 18th. The Pirates will then closeout the regular season on Friday, Oct. 25th on the road against the Marshall Owls.
