Howard County — On Wednesday the Cooper County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a vehicle sitting on Main Street in Boonville near the courthouse. Information provided indicated the vehicle owner, 34 year old Nicholas Henson, had not been seen since Sunday.
A search of the area was conducted. During the course of the search, Howard County dispatched a possible water rescue between the area of Franklin Island and Diana Bend. The Cooper County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area for mutual aid at the request of the Howard County Sheriff.
Upon arrival of rescue personnel a white male identified as Nicholas Henson was found laying on the north bank of the Missouri River. Mr. Henson showed signs of exhaustion and dehydration. Henson was transported to Cooper County Memorial Hospital.
Henson told authorities that he was walking on the bridge early on Monday morning and fell off of the bridge when startled by a vehicle. Family members were notified of Henson’s recovery.
