Nominations sought for historic preservation
Boonville, which has over 450 sites and structures on the National Register of Historic Places, will be able to showcase its history during the Missouri Statewide Preservation Conference.
According to a release, the 2013 local Preservation Legacy Awards will be presented in Boonville at a special awards luncheon on Friday, September 20 at Thespian Hall during the conference.
The awards recognize people and projects in the host conference community that have contributed to the preservation of Missouri’s rich and diverse collection of historic resources. These one-time only awards serve to highlight the significant contributions that have helped create a preservation legacy in the host city.
Up to five recipients will be recognized at the awards ceremony on September 20 at historic Thespian Hall.
All award recipients will receive a one year free membership to Missouri Preservation.
Nominations must be received by August 1. Winners and nominators will be notified by phone or mail after the selection process is completed.
If an individual is interested in entering their project for an award the individual should contact Kate Fjell at Boonville City Hall, 660-882-2332.
